5 Popular Diet Plans That Work

Losing weight is never easy. And, there's so much information out there, that choosing the right diet can be confusing.

There are many diets that work; it's important to choose the one that's right for you. No diet is a diet that works if you can't stick to it.

5 Popular and Successful Dieting Plans that Work

1. The Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet is the original low carbohydrate diet. It is a diet that works by keeping your body in a state of ketosis, which ensures that it burns fat for energy. The first two weeks, called the induction phase, can be tough, but it can help you drop as much as ten pounds.

Basically you eliminate all carbs; eating only protein and some vegetables. No fruit, no grains and no sugar at all during this phase. At the end of the two weeks, you begin adding back carbohydrates gradually to determine the amount you can safely eat and still lose.

2. The Weight Watchers Diet

Weight Watchers has been around forever, and is one of the most successful dieting plans. Weight Watchers is one of the diets that work because no foods are off limits.

You can eat anything, but you practice portion control and you learn how to make healthy choices long term so that you can keep the weight off. You can do weight watchers online or attend meetings.

3. The South Beach Diet

The South Beach diet is lot like Atkins, so it is one of the diets that work. However, after the first two weeks, South Beach allows more carbohydrates than Atkins.

The diet's focus is on eating the healthier carbs and eliminating the unhealthy ones, like white flour and sugar.

4. Nutri-System

Nutri-system is one of the diets that work primarily because most of what you eat is already prepared for you. You simply eat the Nutri-system foods, which can be delivered to your home, along with some fresh produce items you pick up at the grocery.

This diet can make it harder to keep the weight off, however, because you don't really choose your own foods. It's quite easy to go back to eating much larger portions when you go off the diet, because your food is no longer portioned out for you.

5. The Zone Diet

The Zone diet helps dieters aim for a nutritional balance of 40% carbohydrates, 30% fats, and 30% protein each time we eat. The focus is also on controlling insulin levels, which result in more successful weight loss. This is one of the diets that work because you're eating very good carbohydrates and avoiding simple and processed carbs.

Any of these diets can be a diet that works for you if you can stick with it. That's why it's important to choose the diet that will best fit with your lifestyle.
